Outdoor event sound for festivals, ceremonies and community events
Sound systems for Florida's outdoor events, from parks and pavilions to pool decks and festival grounds, with silent battery power, safe cable runs and a plan for the weather.
Outdoor sound takes more planning
Indoors, walls and ceilings help carry sound. Outdoors, sound spreads out and fades fast, wind gets into microphones, and the sun and heat are hard on equipment. A system that sounds fine in a clubhouse can be hard to hear across a park. We size the system for the open space, aim the speakers at the audience and away from neighbors where we can, put windscreens on microphones, and keep electronics shaded.
Power options
Battery power. The Outdoor Sound package includes a silent battery power station: no generator noise, no extension cords across the lawn. It suits ceremonies, speeches, announcements and background music for up to about 150 people.
Outlet or generator. Larger systems, such as the Ballroom and Live Band packages, need a park outlet, a pavilion circuit or a quiet generator. We'll tell you exactly what's needed when we quote.
Planning for Florida weather
- Rain and lightning plan. We agree on it with you before the event, including when to pause and where to move.
- Covered positions for the mixer and electronics, using a tent or covered area at the site
- Lightning safety. If lightning is in the area, we pause for everyone's safety and resume when it's clear.
- Heat. Morning and evening events are easier on guests and equipment from June through September.
- Busy season. November through April fills up first, so book early for those dates.
Safe for guests
Cables across walkways are covered with cable ramps or taped down, speakers on stands are placed out of foot traffic, and everything is set up and tested before guests arrive. For evening events, LED lighting can light the speaker area and stage.

Questions
Common questions
If you don't see your question here, call us at (352) 571-2988.
Can you set up where there's no power?
Yes. The Outdoor Sound package runs on a silent battery power station that handles speeches, announcements and music for a typical outdoor event. For bigger systems we'll need an outlet or a generator.
How far will the sound reach?
That depends on the size of the area and the crowd. Tell us the head count and the space, such as a pavilion, a lawn or a field, and we'll size the system so the people at the back can hear.
What if it rains?
We agree a rain plan with you ahead of time and set up electronics in covered positions. If lightning comes into the area, we pause for safety.
Can we use a projector outdoors?
Only after dark. Projectors can't compete with daylight, so for daytime events plan on sound only.
Planning an outdoor event?
Tell us the date, location and expected crowd. We'll recommend a system and send an itemized written quote.
